Traveling either North or South on Interstate 5, take Exit 124, Downtown Exit, come to stop lights (Harvard Ave), take a right; go over the bridge to Stephens Avenue (approximately one-half (1/2) mile; at the stop lights (Stephens Ave) take a left; travel two blocks to the stop lights (Douglas Ave) take a right; go two (2) blocks, and the Courthouse is on the left.
When a Jury Summons is received, the following items are the important things to look for: Term of Service (Month); Jury Number; Code-a-Phone Number to call; Jury Eligibility Form to be completed and the date it is to be returned to the Court; Parking Permit for the month of service;
TERM OF SERVICE:
Term of service will be for one (1) month. If a juror is seated on a jury panel for a trial, then the juror would be excused for the remainder of the month, and the next two years thereafter.
HOW TO REPORT:
Begin calling the Code-a-Phone: 541-957-2472 or 1-800-460-8132, every evening after 6:00 P.M., on the date given in the Jury Summons, shown under the Jury Eligibility Form. Listen to the message carefully.

Orientation is held at 8:15 A.M. on the first day a juror is to report for jury service. A juror will not be called in for orientation, unless there is a scheduled trial for that day. Plan to spend the whole day, when called in for jury duty.
WHERE TO REPORT:
Douglas County Circuit Court, Justice Building, Room 301A, 3rd Floor.
The Parking Permit is placed in the FRONT WINDOW on the dash of your vehicle. You may park in any 2-hour, 4-hour, Public Parking, or any meter parking.
DO NOT PARK:
No parking in Employee "E" parking, or "HANDICAPPED" parking, unless authorized (Handicapped Placard in window).
ASSISTED LISTENING DEVICE:
The Court will provide accommodations with assisted listening devices if required. Please notify the Jury Coordinator of your need immediately upon receipt of your Jury Summons.
If you are unable to serve as a Juror for any term, you may request to be deferred to another month. You must choose a month not more than one (1) year from the date of your original summons. On the Jury Eligibility Form, please indicate which month you would like to serve.
REQUEST TO BE EXCUSED:
If you are over 70 years of age, you may be excused upon request. Please indicate that on the Jury Eligibility Form and return it, or contact the Jury Coordinator: 541-957-2417.
Other reasons to be excused should be indicated on the Jury Eligibility Form and returned to the Jury Coordinator; i.e., critical medical condition; breast-feeding a new born baby; moved out of state or to another county; prior service; full time student; non-citizen; active duty armed forces;
PROHIBITED ACTS BY EMPLOYERS:
The law provides that an employer shall not discharge or threaten to discharge, intimidate, or coerce an employee by reason of the employee's service as a juror. However, this does not alter the effect of an employer's policies or agreements regarding wages during jury service.
JURY DUTY COMPENSATION:
Jurors attending circuit court during a term of duty service will paid for each day of attendance at the following rates:
- 1st Day $10.00
- 2d Day $10.00
- 3rd and Subsequent Days $25.00
MILEAGE FEE REIMBURSEMENT:
Mileage reimbursement will be paid for each day the juror is required to travel to attend jury service. The rate of pay will be $.20 cents a mile (round trip) for travel between the juror's usual place of abode and the place where jury service is performed.
