Beware of Jury Scams

The Josephine County Circuit Court has become aware of a telephone scam targeting residents of Josephine County.

In this scam, the caller identifies himself as a Deputy Sheriff on behalf of Sheriff Dave Daniels and claims that you have failed to appear for jury duty and a judge has therefore issued an arrest warrant.

Please be aware that if you miss jury service, the court will never ask law enforcement to collect a fine from you.  If you receive a call asking for payment of a fine for missing jury service, hang up, and promptly report the call to the Sheriff’s Office at 541-474-5123.
