A person with a disability using the courts may be eligible for accommodation to meet disability related needs. Accommodations include equipment and/or assistance that will enable persons with disabilities to have full access to activities of the court.
AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA) ACCOMMODATION (UTCR 7.060)
1) If special accommodation under the ADA is needed for an individual in a court proceeding, the party needing accommodation for the individual must notify the court in the manner required by the court as soon as possible, but no later than four judicial days in advance of the proceeding. For good cause shown, the court may waive the four-day advance notice.
2) Notification to the court must provide:

the name of the person needing accommodation;

the case number;
-
charges (if applicable)
-
the nature of the proceeding;
-
the person's status in the proceeding;
-
the date, time and estimated length of the proceeding;
-
the type of disability needing accommodation; and
-
the type of accommodation, interpreter, or auxiliary aid needed or preferred.
