Probate

The Probate Department is located on the 2nd floor of the Lane County Courthouse, 125 E. 8 th Avenue, Eugene, OR 97401.  Office hours are Monday through Friday, except court holidays, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You may contact the Probate Department by phone at (541) 682-4255 or (541) 682-4033.

Completed paperwork for filing in probate, trust and protective proceedings must be submitted to the Probate Department with the appropriate filing fees, if applicable.

Probate, trust and protective proceeding files are handled by the Probate Department while they are open and active.  Closed case files are located in the 2 nd floor File Center, or in Archives, depending on the age of the case.  Copies of Probate files can be obtained upon request. Estate, trust and protective proceedings are complicated matters and you may find it helpful to consult an attorney.  The court staff is prohibited from providing you with legal advice, acting as your attorney, or assisting you in preparation of paperwork. The Probate Center does not provide legal forms with the exception of the yearly report form for guardians of adults.
