Transcripts of a specific public court hearing is made upon request. In order to receive a transcript for other than criminal cases, at least one of the parties must request that the hearing be recorded and pay a recording fee before the hearing is conducted. The transcript is made from this recording of the court event.
In the Linn circuit court, the transcription is prepared by an independent contractor. The request for the transcription is made to the Judicial Support Supervisor. Except where a transcript is ordered by the State, the cost of preparation must be paid in advance by the requesting party. The number of pages are estimated and an adjustment made as needed whenever the transcript is completed. The cost is $2.50 per page for the original and $0.25 per page for each copy (ORS 21.470).
An audio copy of a specific public court hearing is made upon request. All court events associated with criminal matters are recorded as part of the court procedure. In order to have other than criminal events officially recorded, one of the parties must request the event be recorded and pay a recording fee. The CD copy of the event is made from these official recordings.
The cost for a CD is $10 each. The payment is required in advance of making the copy. Requests must be submitted in writing, using the following form: Copy Request Form
