Thank you for your interest in the Citizen Review Board (CRB).
If you would like to help us advocate for children and youth,
please read the CRB Volunteer Board  Member Position Description and complete the volunteer board member application.

Volunteer board members commit one regularly scheduled, full working day per month to conduct reviews and another 3 to 6 hours reading case material before the reviews. Materials are sent to volunteer board members seven to ten days in advance. Because the materials are confidential, volunteer board members return them to their field staff member on the day of the review.

In addition to reviewing individual cases of children in substitute care, the  CRB studies and recommends improvements in foster-care policies, procedures, and laws.

Because we value and embrace a greater diversity of cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds, we seek people from all walks of life and with differing backgrounds or areas of expertise. The primary qualifications are

• interest in the welfare of children and families,
• ability to maintain confidentiality and cope with sensitive and emotional cases, and
• availability to attend reviews regularly.

Limited funds are available to assist with certain expenses related to serving on a board. Mileage, day care expenses, etc. can be reimbursed to those applicants meeting eligibility requirements.
