UTCR Reporter - Contacting the UTCR Committee

The UTCR Committee has one Reporter. This Reporter performs the Committee's administrative functions the Chief Justice directs. The Reporter's duties include sending out notices, arranging meetings, researching issues, answering public questions and correspondence, and providing a place to file proposed SLR changes and other proposals and materials for the Committee to consider. The easiest way to contact the UTCR Committee is through the Reporter.

Submitting Proposals/Materials to the UTCR Committee

Anyone may submit proposals or materials for the UTCR Committee to consider. Materials may be mailed, e-mailed, or faxed to the UTCR Reporter's addresses. The Reporter distributes but does not screen, summarize, or modify materials submitted for the Committee to consider.

When the Reporter receives materials three weeks before the meeting, the Reporter will copy and mail them to the Committee. See next meeting dates for the schedule.

When the Reporter receives materials after the mailing deadline but at least five days before the meeting, the Reporter will copy and distribute the materials at the meeting.

If you want to distribute materials at a meeting, please bring 25 copies. We need enough copies for the Committee members, the Reporter, and others who may attend the meeting.

Attending a UTCR Committee Meeting

If you want to attend a UTCR Committee meeting to discuss a particular topic but cannot stay for the whole meeting, the Committee will try to accommodate your schedule. Let the Reporter know your schedule needs as far in advance as possible and ask him whether the Committee can accommodate you.

If you have a proposal for the Committee, we recommend that you

• take time to draft careful language; and
• attend or have someone else attend the meeting to explain the proposal and to answer questions the Committee may have about it.
