Chief Justice Order 11-008, issued on April 4, 2011, authorizes webcasting of oral arguments and sets out procedures applicable to those cases that will be webcast. The order can be accessed through the following link: Chief Justice Order 11-008.
The Oregon Supreme Court has initiated webcasting of oral arguments conducted before the court in the Supreme Court Courtroom. The court will provide webcasting of most oral arguments by way of streaming live broadcasts of oral arguments and will provide internet access to archived versions of those oral arguments. In addition, the court will provide internet access to archived versions of oral arguments that are conducted in places other than the Supreme Court Courtroom as technical operations allow.
Live streaming of oral arguments will begin approximately five minutes before the scheduled argument time. To find the argument time scheduled for a case and to determine whether the argument will be webcast, click on the Court Calendar tab above.
Access to both the live streaming of oral arguments before the court and to archived versions of those oral arguments is available through the link provided below.
Occasionally, due to technical difficulties, an argument that ordinarily would be webcast will be available only via audio. In those instances, the audio part of the argument will be linked to the webcasting link.
