Welcome to the Oregon Courts

Oregonians can be proud of their state courts, which every day strive to meet our constitutional obligations to provide impartial justice completely and without delay, while being open and accessible to all Oregonians.

Oregon's 200 elected state court judges and hundreds of professional staff work hard every day to provide justice efficently, fairly, and promptly. Their work includes:

  • protecting individuals' rights,
  • sentencing people who are convicted of crimes,
  • helping victims of domestic violence or abuse,
  • resolving child custody or family disputes,
  • enforcing the rules of the marketplace among businesses and consumers, and
  • ensuring the government acts within its legal authority.

This web site explains how Oregon’s state courts work, what they do, and how to find information about local courts and jury service. Whether you are a juror, a party to a case, an attorney representing clients, or just someone curious about how Oregon state courts work, I hope you will find valuable information on this site.

Sincerely,
Meagan A. Flynn
Chief Justice
