The court requires parties to complete a parent education class in all domestic relations cases involving child custody or parenting time. Parent education classes are designed to educate parents about the many issues children face when their family structure changes. The classes focus on how to help children adjust to a divorce or separation and/or living apart from a parent. The classes also provide information to parents about developing skills for successful co-parenting as separated parents.
Yamhill Circuit Court offers parent education classes that addresses the developmental needs of children and teaches skills to reduce conflict among parents and other child custodians. Classes are available in Spanish.
