To request an audio recording please use the online
Records Request Form.
Audio records are typically available within five (5) business days. The court may reach out to you and request more information or records payment of a fee if one is applicable. If the court reaches out to you and you do not respond within sixty (60) court business days, the court must close the request.
Audio Formats
You can request recordings in the following formats:
- CD: A Compact Disc (CD) audio request can either be mailed or picked up at the court the hearing was held. CD’s can hold a limited amount of hearing time on them. If the hearing is long, you may need multiple CD’s.
- Digital: An audio request in this format can only be emailed to you.
Audio recordings are generally provided via Secure File Transfer (SFTP). You will receive an email with a link to download the requested audio files. The link will expire in 14 days after it is received.
To Play Court Audio
To listen to the recordings, you must have:
- A personal computer (PC) with a sound card and speakers.
- To play to the recordings, you will need the free FTR Player which can be downloaded from fortherecord.com. (At this time FTR software is not Apple compatible.)
Court staff cannot assist you if you encounter problems with the FTR Player. If you have technical issues with FTR Player, you will need to contact technical support for FTR.
FTR Audio Copy Costs
FTR Audio Costs would apply to copies Emailed, Mailed, or Picked up in Person:
- Electronic Recordings: $10.00 per proceeding
- CD Recording: $1.00 per CD + Electronic recording costs (example: electronic recording cost $10.00 + 1 CD = $11)
- Other Media Format: Actual court cost of media + electronic recording.
- Mailing: Actual cost of mailing
Payment must be made in full prior to the Court processing your request.
Restrictions for Confidential Cases
State law restricts who may receive audio copies of hearings and trials for some case types, such as adoptions and juvenile cases. If you request an audio copy from a restricted (confidential) case type, your request may be denied or you may be required to complete additional paperwork, show identification, and pick up the copies in person.
