Getting a Protective Order in Jackson County
Hearings for all types of protective orders are held at 1:00 pm every day that the Court is open.
Your paperwork must be completed and filed with the Court no later than 10:30 am. You will need to report to the designated courtroom directly at 1:00 pm for your hearing. Protective Order forms may be obtained from the Civil information window at the Jackson County Justice Building.
There are several different types of protective orders:

A protective order against you may immediately prohibit you from possessing firearms/ammunition and require you to surrender them. The terms and applicable forms are listed below.
Jackson County Resources for Protective Order Assistance
Community Works provides free and confidential services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Court advocacy services include assistance with filing restraining orders, safety planning, court accompaniment and resource referrals. Please call 541-779-4357.

Center for Non-Profit Legal Services provides free legal assistance to low-income individuals. Center for Non-Profit Legal Services (CNPLS) provides assistance in family law matters to victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. CNPLS does not assist with initiating restraining orders, but can assist Petitioners if the restraining order is contested. CNPLS can assist on stalking orders and elder and disabled abuse prevention orders. Please call

Victims’ Assistance within the Jackson County District Attorney Office helps crime victims navigate the criminal justice system process and provide assistance that promotes establishing victim stabilization after the crime. Requesting Removal of a Protective Order
In order for a protective order to be dismissed, the petitioner is required to complete an Alternative to Violence course. The court accepts certificate of completions from both Community Works (free) and www.courseforviolence.com ($25.00):
