If you are filing an appeal of your case, you may need a transcript of the hearing and not an audio copy. An audio copy is the sound recording that you listen to. A transcript is a word-for-word written record of the audio recorded during a court proceeding that you read. Transcripts are made by a professional transcriber who listens to the audio (sound) recording and types the spoken words in a written document.
Jackson County Court does not offer written transcripts. The Records Department can provide you with a list of outside transcribers who are trained in preparation of transcripts suitable for future Court matters or you may seek your own transcriptionist. You can reach the Jackson County Records Department at 541-776-7171 ext. 35024.
To request an audio recording, refer to the Audio Copy Requests page.
To request documents from a court case, refer to the Case File Copies page, or Juvenile Records Requests page for Juvenile cases.

When should I receive my written transcript?
The amount of time it takes for the transcriber to prepare your transcript depends on the length of the hearing or trial being transcribed and the current workload of the transcriber. Questions or concerns about the time it will take to prepare a transcript should be discussed with the assigned transcriber.
